IAMFORGIVEN

Veterans Day

Nowadays living in America, I find that we don’t understand the true meaning of what it took to actually have all the freedoms that we today.  The rights to vote, the freedom of speech, and all the comforts that we get to experience living in this beautiful country.

The more I think about the history of America, the more I am thankful for all the men and woman that gave up their lives so that we can have the life we have today.  I am not going to say that war is right, or the leaders decisions to do what they did was always correct, but I do want to focus on every person who has, is, and will dedicate their lives to protecting us and Americas’ freedoms.

When we look only to the war themselves I feel like we neglect the people who laid down their lives.  We dishonor all those who died for our freedom.  We fail to realize that countless people have given up their comforts so that we can be comfortable.  They have left their friends and families to go to a place where one bullet could end their existence here on earth, leaving loved ones behind.  They have walked into places where no person should go, and where they new they might not come back.  The bravery that would take to lay their life down for another is something we will never fully understand, but they did it for us!  They did it for our great country.  Let us not downplay what they have done and all the sacrifices that have been made, but recognize the greatness of our fellow brothers and sisters.  Let’s honor them with thankfulness.

Today is Veterans day and from the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you to all you who selflessly are willing to step into dangers way and fight for our freedoms.  I know you don’t get the honor you should get nowadays, but I want to say thank you for your service to this great country.  Thank you for the lives you save as we sit in a country being able to enjoy all of our freedoms.  I pray that God will honor you for eternity as you have followed in the footsteps of Jesus; sacrificially laying down your life for others.  God bless you and your families.

THANK YOU
