IAMFORGIVEN

The Christian walk starts with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ but doesn’t stop there.  I was reading through the book of Acts this morning and it just blew my mind.  So many times we think that we don’t need to go to church to be a Christian, which is a true statement, but look at all the blessings that you are missing out on when you skip out on the fellowship of believers.

We are created to have relationships with one another and the believers were so impacted by what Jesus did that they were willing to set aside the “I” and allow the “Us” to be more important.  When there was a struggle the “You” have a problem became how can “We” come together to get through this.  Church became a family where they got together daily to worship God, follow in the Apostles teachings, break bread together and pray.

How they interacted with one another was so filled with unconditional love that people from the outside saw this and knew there was something different about these people that follow after Jesus of Nazareth.  It was so strong that they couldn’t deny the power of God in their lives.  That love for one another caused people to flock to church. and give their lives over to Jesus.

Now that is church!!!  People coming together to worship God and serve one another by living a life of sacrifice for each other.

“You have a need?  Let me come along side of you to bear the burden and help you out.”

“You don’t have enough money to pay rent this week?  Let me pay it for you.”

“You lost your job?  Let me help you find another one, in the mean time come to my house so I can feed you and your family.”

The list can go on and on about how this could look…  But let me ask you this:

Do you love God so much that you would be willing to sell your material things to help out others? Do you have anything in abundance that you don’t need, that could help somebody in need? I think we all have something we can sacrifice, it’s a matter of if we are willing.

Can you imagine if everybody in the world lived like that?  If they loved God so much that they were willing to inconvenience themselves to put others first?  This would be an amazing world.  There wouldn’t be any poverty or people dieing of hunger.

The truth of the matter is, the world will never be like that, BUT CHURCH CAN BE.  We have to be willing to live life together, bearing each others burdens and love each other UNCONDITIONALLY.  Then we will start to see people walking through the doors of church wanting to be saved because of what God is doing through people loving people.  So let’s choose to love one another so much so, that it impacts others in such a positive way that Jesus gets all the glory.  By loving God and loving each other God’s attribute of unconditional love will be shown through us.

You can play a part in bringing people to Christ, through love.
