IAMFORGIVEN

waiting

There are so many times in life that I wish I knew all the answers or had a clue what the ending would look like. Our life is a journey and the majority of it, we walk into the unknown hoping that God will reveal the path on the way. But so many times we sit back and don’t allow him to direct our path because we are so stuck in waiting to know what the answer is. To know where God wants us to go.

“If only I knew where God wanted me to go, then I would move forward with that destination in mind.” The problem with that is, where is the faith? Faith is walking into the unknown first and then watching God layout the direction as you go. One thing that I have learned is that God doesn’t steer our ship until we push the boat out to sea.

Midway through 2013, I felt God telling me to Go for 2014. I didn’t have a clue where I was going to end up, so I went and prayed for a month in Australia. So when I got back, I thought for sure that was it! I was going to serve in Australia for a year because I loved it! Everything about Australia was amazing and I really wanted to serve the Aussies!

Little did I know that, it was just a temporary stepping stone to get me to go to New Zealand for the rest of 2014. As I was on my journey in January, every door started to close in Australia and I felt like God was opening up doors wide in New Zealand. As the boat was moving, God decided to steer my life to New Zealand to serve and help there instead. Kind of bummed because my heart was Australia, but I accepted God’s path knowing that since He was directing my life, He would bring the joy with it. It has been 9 months and I have seen some amazing things here in New Zealand and have had an amazing experience that has grown my faith.

But I was thinking back and if I didn’t push my boat out to sea, I would still be sitting in LA being ineffective and not enjoying the blessings of obedience. So many times we want the final answer, and we throw in “then I will”, but the reality is you don’t have faith!   God doesn’t direct a boat that isn’t moving. A boat that doesn’t move is useless and should be pulled out of the water. Just like a Christian who doesn’t walk by faith. If we are not moving forward then the world will take us backwards.

My biggest struggle with this is I always say God give me just enough to get me going, and He usually turns to me and says, “Get moving and I will give you enough”. We have to walk by faith and move; jump into the unknown and trust God with our everything. That is the only way we will see God show off his miracles. That is why it is called a leap of faith!

Jesus calls us to Go.. that is an action word so let us all be obedient and push the boat into the unknown and watch our lives go into a world of full trust in Christ. That is true faith!
