IAMFORGIVEN

giveup

I can’t tell you how many times in life I have been to a point of wanting to give up and just go to heaven already. When I look back at all those times of feeling like I was helpless and wanting to give up there is one thing all those experiences had in common.  It was “ME”!  Everything was based on me from my emotions, my struggles, my tears, my and my hopelessness! Every single time this depressed state of mind would hit, I would want to go into the room and pout! Just sit there and cry out to God. WHY? Why am I feeling like this? Why do I have to experience all this hurt and pain? Why does my heart feel like it is being ripped out? I don’t deserve this!

Once I’m finished, God simply brings me back to his word. He shows me what I am experiencing isn’t even close to what He went through; from when He was willingly beaten, spit on, mocked, to eventually being killed for something he wasn’t even guilty of.  Wow, this will hit you hard when you compare this to your mediocre problems.  Immediately my perspective changes because I realize that Christ did all that because He loves me and wants me to live a full life.

When we take our focus off of Jesus Christ and look to what we don’t have, our lives can quickly become self-centered.  The “your will be done prayer”, becomes “my will be done”,  and that takes us to a place of hurting and pain. When we bring it back to God and His will in our lives, we start to find Joy no matter what circumstances come your way.

You might be struggling with this right now and feel like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders.  However, it isn’t the end of the world. Jesus is a big God and can handle anything you throw at Him, but you have to trust Him and allow Him to work in your life.  He is there with open arms, wanting you to find joy in Him alone.  Things of this world will never fully satisfy, but realizing that Jesus died on the cross and suffered willingly to give you life, will provide us with a healthy perspective on what we are facing.  We won’t worry about things of this world anymore because we will be heavenly minded wanting nothing but to sit and find joy in the arms of the Lord.  So together, as Christians, let’s all take the focus off ourselves and put all of our focus on God.
