IAMFORGIVEN

dodging

I was on a mission to find a gift for a friend back in NZ, but just wasn’t having any luck. He is all about America and loves everything about our amazing nation. So I thought, a tee shirt with the American flag would be an amazing gift for him. I started to drive store after store, just to find this souvenir for my buddy but to my surprise it was extremely hard to find anything with an American flag on it. Where did all of our National Spirit go?

So I thought who better to have one than WalMart, right? I ran through the store, and the closest thing that I could find was a Captain America shirt. Being that he was an older gentlemen, I didn’t think he would want to wear a child’s shirt. What is this nation coming to that not even Walmart would carry this? So finally left the store, but on the way out I noticed a guy sitting next to a donations box asking for money for a homeless shelter. I didn’t feel in a giving mood or even talkative mood so decided I would avoid this man and go the other way. I know pretty Christian of me right?

So I walked around, and as I turned the corner, there were a few other people sitting there who I couldn’t avoid. They were trying to get people to sign three different petitions. One having to do with Pornstars wearing condoms. So I wondered why people were so into fighting for a cause that made no sense. So I asked them if they cared about what people were signing or if they just got paid. He said I care more than most but not as much as others. To him, this was just a job. He was getting paid for signatures and to help pass bills that he didn’t know the details.

So where was all this going? After that, they asked what I do for a living. OPEN DOOR!!! I told them that I was a missionary in New Zealand and out there giving people the good news. So I simply asked them if they went to church that led to being able to share the amazing good news of Jesus Christ. In the end, they were thankful for me saying something, so I encouraged them to read the Bible and get plugged into a church. The girl had a really good friend that went to BIOLA and already been setting the example by how she lived her life. It was awesome to be part of what God was already doing in her life. 🙂

I was super encouraged to see God at work. All you have to do is be willing to be used for Him. I tried avoiding this other guy who led me to these other two people who needed to hear the gospel. Once God opened the door, it was a matter of just speaking up! If you have never shared your faith before I would highly recommend it, one because that is what we are called to do, but also because God gives you joy about talking about Him! Every time I talk about Jesus, it makes me think about how amazing He truly is and the amazing grace that he has shown me in my life. I hope you are encouraged to tell people about the love of our life and allow others to share in that joy!!!

Don’t fear man, just speak up and speak the truth in love! God bless you, and I would love to hear your stories too!!!
