Keep Sinning?

What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?

By no means!   Romans 6:1-2

We are saved by grace and if we believe the True Gospel Message of Jesus Christ, our salvation is secure through our repentance and trust in Jesus taking on our sins at the Cross.

But does that mean that we have the right to willfully keep on sinning?

Maybe this analogy will help:

When we come to Jesus, He adopts us into His royal family.  We come as we are, but we learn to live under the guidelines of the family that adopted us.  In this case we become more like Christ, changing our lifestyle to best represent God’s family.  We have been bought with a price (The death of Christ) and we no longer are our own.  If we understand what Christ has done for us, by bringing us out of darkness and into His light, then we can allow the Holy Spirit to work in us changing us from the inside out.

We not longer want to live under sin, but it becomes a bad taste in our mouth.  Our desires change to want to follow in the ways of Christ and our lives start to mimic that of our adopted Royal Family.

Will we continue to sin?  Of Course, we aren’t perfect. But the Holy Spirit works in us to show us right from wrong and if we listen to Him, we find blessings in obedience.  When we start to understand sin, we begin to understand grace.  Jesus died for our every sin… why would we want keep doing what God saved us from?  Let’s strive to live a life that Christ has called us to live and then we will start to live life to the fullest.

We are a Royal Family!

In His Name.
