Peter Said “I don’t know him”..  Three times he denied Christ and this must have been a heavy burden, knowing that he just lied to the people leaving Jesus all alone to be crucified to die on a cross as an innocent man.  Just to make eye contact with Jesus as he is up on the Cross would have made his stomach sick knowing what he did.

Three days of pure agony and sorrow could be enough to make a man go crazy, but Jesus wasn’t finished.  He was raised from the dead to come back and prove that He was the Son of God.  The Look on Peters face would have been that of disbelief and excitement, but at the same time fear that he would have to suffer the consequences of denying Jesus.

One morning after breakfast Jesus approaches the situation and asks Peter if he Loved Him.  Peter Responds, “you know that I love you”..  Jesus Responds with “then feed my lambs”.

Again Jesus asks him “Do you love me?”  Peter Responds, ” Yes Lord, you know I love you.”  Jesus says “then tend my sheep”.

For the third time Jesus asks Peter “Do you Love me?” and Peter with grief that Jesus would ask him a third time responds with “You know everything, and you know I love you.”  Jesus responds with , “then feed my sheep and follow after me.”

It’s amazing that God would use those that are not worthy to further his kingdom.  It’s when we realize that we need God in ALL THINGS that He can begin to work in ways we could never imagine. Jesus asks you… “Do you Love me?”  if so then “FOLLOW ME…”
