Mid January 2014 I will be heading out to the land down under to help win people to Christ, equip them to be disciples and make disciples, and then encourage them to go out and do the same. When I was there at the beginning of the year, I really questioned how one of the most beautiful places on earth could be so spiritually dead. What a great opportunity to bring the Hope of Jesus Christ to a place that could change the South Pacific and the ends of the earth. So by faith I will be leaving and going with the intention to spread the gospel and teach others to do the same, but be open to what the Holy Spirit will have me do. As I have learned in the past that God is in control and when He is in the mix, I have seen some crazy miracles and lives changed.
How did all this come about? Well in January 2013 I took my second trip out the the Australian east coast and what I found was there were people not only from Australia, but also travelers from all the nations open to hearing the Good news of Jesus Christ. I started to look around for some good churches to see if there was a presence of Christianity and could only find a few people that really loved the Lord. This crazy compassion for this country overtook me and I saw the need first hand of people needing Christ in their lives. There were sooo many lost people ready to hear the gospel and so few people to tell them. So when I got back from Australia to LA, God started to close the doors to many areas in my life here that I know only God could close. A couple months later after teaching me how to trust Him more with my everything, He put this thought of GO14 that would not go away. So I prayed and prayed and the doors just kept opening to a point where I knew they were God directing me to go.
Recently, I went out to watch the stars and was praying “I don’t want to go unless you are in the midst of it all because without you it would all be in vain, so show me a sign that I know for sure it is your calling.” A couple minutes later, I looked up and saw the longest, biggest shooting star that I have ever seen shoot across the sky leaving a huge smile on my face knowing that God had just answered my prayer. That was confirmation that the South Pacific is where God wants me to be. So I will be focused on going to Australia/NZ for the next year, possibly more depending on Gods leading.
There is much to be done before I leave, and much to be done when I get out there but I know that with God’s help my path with be lined with His will making the impossible, possible. Please keep me in prayer as I am leaving EVERYTHING that I know, my every comfort and putting that behind me while walking into the unknown. It is exciting because I fully have to trust God, but all my friends, family and Kado will be missed!
