IAMFORGIVEN

newlife
As I was spending some time with God this morning I started to think about how I’m living in New Zealand.  That sounds great right?  A nice vacation to middle earth where you can go and see all of God’s creation and enjoy a slow pace life, and then return to your busy home town.  But that is not the case because this definitely is no vacation.   I am living 6,018 miles away from Los Angeles, a place where I spent 13 years of building my life and making new friends and now have to start all over again.

After 13 years in LA, I must say life was good.  I had people that I could call up at any time and go hang out.  There was always something to do and I had my church family around anytime I needed something.  I really didn’t think that I would ever leave LA because I loved it there.  But God has a sense of humor and I have learned that it is really easy to get comfortable and become safe in life; to stick with what you know.

But are we really called to just be safe in life and never venture out into the unknown?  I think we miss out on life’s adventures when we don’t walk out in faith and Trust God.  So many times we don’t allow God to work through us because we want to stay in our comfort zone.  We are more focused on US, then going to GOD and asking what He wants.  We tend to do things and make decisions according to what we want or what we think is best leaving God out of the equation.  Wait!  God knows best, so how come we think our decisions are better outside what He wants?

I am now living in New Zealand as a Missionary!   Yeah.. That is weird to me too but when God stirs your heart to go and follow after Him it really is an amazing life.  He changes your life from one that is extremely selfish to a life of sacrifice, loving  Jesus and loving people.  I was just chuckling because who would have thought I would be living in an unknown land serving people I don’t know and giving them the good news of Jesus only a year ago.  That is all glory to God for even allowing me to experience His joy in my life and stirring me to follow after Jesus.

When we follow in God’s calling and walk by faith fully trusting Jesus in all that we do, we begin to see things we have never seen before and our lives change in unimaginable ways.  So, set your mind on Jesus’ Kingdom and don’t be afraid of walking into the unknown because God will take care of your every need.

I don’t know where I will end up or where God will take me, but I do know that it doesn’t matter as long as Jesus is the center.

Walking By Faith.
