There is this song in church that we sing all the time and it never really hit me what I was singing until I heard it on the radio this morning.  Chris Tomlin started singing “Our God is Greater, Our God is stronger, God you are higher than any other…”  This immediately caught my ear and I started thinking about God and how there is no other God like Him.

The drums started to hit harder and I felt God tugging on my heart saying LISTEN to the next two verses!

And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us

And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?

Just take a second to think about that verse…. If God is for us, then who can stop us?   If we have God on our side why would we fear man?  I think a lot of times we forget that God is an AWESOME GOD who is extremely powerful and can do all things.  We begin to put man first because we are scared that we won’t fit in, or be accepted, or get what we want.  Rejection becomes our fear and our lack of trust prevents us from doing what God calls us to do.  Take rest in the next verse “But if God is with us, then what can stand against?”  If we are doing what God has called us to do then what can stop us?  We are on the winning side and we have to take rest in knowing that God will be with us through every decision we make for Him.

Lastly, These lyrics were pulled from Romans 8 which talks about nothing will being able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Man might be able to kill the body, but they can’t take away the love of Christ!  Rest in that knowing that when we follow Christ, He is for us and nothing can stop us!
