So what’s all this hype about this red moon?  I went online to check it out and to see, and found out that it would be something pretty cool to experience.  I mean who wouldn’t want to see the moon turn red, right?  So after getting super excited about what it was, I decided that I was going to grab my camera, go find a place on a mountain somewhere and take some pictures.

But there ended up being a big problem; as I looked outside my hopes had been squashed.  It had been an extremely cloudy day with dark rain looking clouds fully covering the sky.  That Sucks! Maybe next time.

But then God started to remind me that even in the small things, we can bring our desires to Him.  So that was what I did, I walked over to the window and began to pray that God would open up the skies so that I could get some awesome photos.  Yeah pretty selfish I know! But as I waited, I started to see the clouds become less thick, allowing some of the blue skies to peak through.  So I jumped in the car remembering to drive on the LEFT SIDE of the road and headed over to Pigeon Mountain.

As I pulled up, I looked over and there it was.  THE MOON!  It was huge and as it started to rise over the hill, it had begun to change into a pink color.  It was AMAZING!  I pulled out the tripod and camera and began to take some photos just in awe of God’s majesty and creativity.  And all I was doing was capturing what He created!

15 minutes had past when all of a sudden the clouds came in and started to cover the moon.  Again I was disappointed that I wasn’t going to see the full effect of the lunar eclipse.   So I packed up my gear and went to Macca’s to get a soft serve ice cream.  As I drove through, the girl that was serving me was in a bad mood.  You could hear it in her voice through the ordering speaker.  So when I pulled up, she didn’t even look at me, she just took my credit card and handed me the machine to type in my pin number.

I ask “Is everything ok?”  She turned toward me and said, “it’s been a bad day at Uni and now I have to work”.  So confused on what to do, I said everything will be ok, smiled at her, told her to have a great day and then moved to the next window.

As I was getting my food from the window God was tugging on my heart to do something for this girl to bless her in the name of Jesus.  So I went home and looked for a few things; a card, a gospel tract, and something about the church.  I grabbed Ruth and we headed to the  ATM to get some cash to stick in the thank you card, and then headed back to Macca’s to get some more ice cream and talk with this girl again.

We pulled up and tt was her again and she still seemed down and out, so I ordered a sunday for Ruth and then pulled up to the window.  Same look on her face.  I guess my have a great day didn’t work last time so hopefully this will.  I asked her “Are you still having a bad day?”  She said “yeah”  I proceed with “As I left the drive through last time, God really put it on my heart to come back and bless you in the name of Jesus Christ.”

She just looked at me confused about what was going on.

So I continued and said “I want you to take this and hopefully it will brighten your day.”

Again she looked at me with no clue what to do, so I simply told her to blessed by it and open it later.  She kinda gave me a sideways smile, but I would take it!  It wasn’t about me, getting something out of blessing her, but hopefully she would see that no matter her circumstances she is loved and cared about from a Christian who wants her to experience the love of Christ for herself.

So we drove off with our ice creams excited about what God can do with that simple act of kindness.  She will be blessed and I pray that she understood the reason we did that was because God has blessed us with more than we can imagine.  When you freely give what God has given you, then you find freedom from things of this world.

This girl did nothing to deserve what we did for her, yet that is the beautiful thing about grace.  We don’t deserve anything God has done for us, yet he sacrificed His life as a gift for eternal salvation.

The story doesn’t stop there……
To be Continued tomorrow

I hope you are encouraged to go out and change peoples life by sharing the love of Christ.

Travis, this is a great post and it blesses me as well.
Very true, God even cares for the small things in our life, however we tend to never take notice of them.
God bless your Travis, and the work of your hands.
