IAMFORGIVEN

So after blessing the girl from Macca’s (AKA McDonalds), we went off with our soft serve ice creams back to the house.  As we pulled into the driveway, the clouds open up and I look up to see the full eclipse.  It was AMAZING!  So I dropped off Ruth, grabbed my camera and headed back to Pigeon Mountain as fast as I could.  I pulled up, parked the car and ran up the steep hill hoping God would keep the clouds open long enough to capture the BLOOD MOON.

Fully exhausted from the hill, I pulled out the camera, threw it on the tripod and started snapping some time lapse pictures.  At this time nobody was around so I just looked up into the sky and started praising and worshiping God for every prayer he had answered to make this happen.  Then I just started to sing out in amazement because of how worthy He is!  God thing nobody was around to be bothered by my scratchy voice.

About 20 minutes later there was a guy that was doing his run up the mountain.  He got to the top and started to do some crazy yoga, so I just kinda watched, fully entertained for about 5 minutes.  After, he walked up to me and started to have a conversation about the moon and how I was able to capture it.  That small talk transition extremely fast because of what God was doing with the moon.   How could you not look up at moon, let alone the moon being red and not know that it came from a creator?  It wasn’t an accident and either were we.

So we began to talk about what he believed and how he loves science.  I jumped in, “ME TOO, Science is amazing”.  Kinda confused because in his eyes Christians and Science don’t go hand in hand.  He continued to talk about some of his understandings about Christianity.  I want to say I was blown away about how off he was about Christianity, but to be honest, I have heard it way too much and nothing really surprises me anymore.  The people of this world will take anything they hear and put it in their category as truth.  The sad part is most of the time all you have to do is ask them questions so they can hear the craziness that they believe.  When people really begin to think about what they are saying it doesn’t even make sense to themselves.

So at this point, I simply asked him if I could share the gospel.  The real absolute historical truth about creation, the fall and redemption of Jesus Christ.  He said sure.  So I broke it down to him in a way that was easy to understand.  Just tried to show him how we all need saving from our sinful flesh, and Jesus is that Savior.

It started to get cold (That doesn’t happen in SO CAL) so he wanted to take off.  So I thanked him for hearing the good news and asked him to go get some coffee sometime to talk more about this.  After he left I stuck around for another 30 minutes trying to get the final stages of the eclipse.  So to stay warm I danced around like a ballerina screaming at the top of my lungs (not really) praising God for everything that he allowed me to experience this night.

Everything had been perfectly orchestrated in His timing to get me where He wanted me to be for the work of God’s kingdom.  I want to encourage you to pray earnestly and be willing to go where God will take you.  If you do, you will see God show up in more ways than we could ever imagine.

Please subscribe to hear more about what God is doing in my life journey as a missionary.  I hope you will be encouraged.
