I have watched thousands of movies in my life, everything from chick flicks to hardcore action packed films.  And it seems that every time I push play I enter into this world that allows me to escape my current reality and go into a world that always has a happy ending.  The guy gets the girls, the hero saves the world, the normal guy becomes a super hero, the rags become the rich and then the best is the happily ever after stories.

After watching so many of these stories it has cause me to think that life always has a happy ending and there is never anything bad that happens.  But in reality life is nothing like that; it is messy!  We have romanticized everything, and then when something bad happens we don’t understand why this could happen to us. We have made this life all about us and not about God.  We have to get outside our romanticized false world and realize that there is a bigger picture to our life and that we are just part of God’s ultimate plan.

Here is what God tells about reality:

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4

WHENEVER... Trials will come but hold strong knowing that it is for the purpose of your faith to become mature and complete.  When our perspective is that God is in control and we begin to trust Him, then we can find true Joy in life and it isn’t just a movie script but reality.
