If you new that what you were doing was the cause of somebody making the wrong decision and ruining their life, would you stop doing it? Or would you blame them for choices that they make?

I think that is a question that we rarely ask ourselves.  We have grown up in a society where it is all about “ME and I”, and the “US” has been taken out.  We no longer live in a world where putting others first is promoted and honored.  It is more about what you can get out of something/someone instead of how you can bless others.  I believe this mentality flows through everything that we do, from what clothes we wear, to how we spend our time, to even how we use our resources.

If we live our life for selfish gain, we really are not living life.  We were created to be in community together, putting others first which is how God calls us to love one another.  When we get together, the real question we should be asking is “How can I bless somebody else?  How can I share the love of Christ through my actions?”

When we change our perspective on how we live our life and look to God as the ultimate example, we see that Love is sacrificing oneself for another. And through this we see that God is glorified.  This attitude of “I can do what ever I want”, changes to “I want to put others first and love them like Christ loves me.”

“Take care that this right of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.” 1 Corinthians 8:9

Think of a world were everybody put each others needs first, love would permeate society and we would see the change that we all desire. But that starts with “US”. We have to be willing to change our perspective to Loving God, and loving others. Everything else will come from this.
