IAMFORGIVEN

thechase

I have never been the type of guy that would go hard and chase after a woman.  I have always felt that I would trust God and just wait to see if that relationship was from God or not.  In a way, it was easy to protect my heart when the relationship ended.  I would simply look to God and say thank you for not allowing me to enter into something that is not of you.  But as much as I thought I was fully putting my heart out there, I was more protective than anything.  I would put it out there but not fully and be quick to take it back.

One thing that I have learned over the years is that we will chase the things that we love.  We will put them first in all that we do, and our everything will be centered around that person. We want to spend our every hour thinking about them and wondering when the next time you will be able to get to see them again. Just one text, one message, one phone call, can light up your day and leave you will a smile that will shine to those around you. Just the soft words of I LOVE YOU, can melt your heart and bring you to a place that will allow that person to break down any wall and be extremely vulnerable.

When your heart is so in love with somebody, there is nothing that can hold you back from freely giving your all, just to be able to hold them in your arms.  When love is real, you are willing to chase them through anything!  You are prepared to climb any mountain, swim any sea, cross any desert just to be able to stare into their eyes and tell them how much you love them.  You are willing to lay down even your desires to put them first and if need be to give up your life for them.

The more I live life and get a taste of Jesus’ ultimate example of what true love is, the more I see how much He is willing to chase after us.  True love requires a chase.  When you believe in something so much that it becomes your everything, it is hard to just let things go.  Especially if you know they are from God.

Jesus is not willing to just let us go!  He has been chasing us from the beginning of time, and it is His love that drives His heart to lay down His life so that we can experience the joy of seeking after Him.  He stands at the door and knocks, and if you move houses, He will follow you and not let you get away.  He will go to that house and keep knocking.  He will never give up on you and give you countless times to receive His love. But the question is, will you love Him back?

If you are willing to love Him, that will require a chase!  Through thick and thin, no matter what happens you will need to put Him first and make Him your everything.  There will be times when things will be hard, and you feel He isn’t around, but keep climbing that mountain. Because, when you get to the top, you will have an experience of an everlasting lifetime.

What we put first and chase after will always be the one we love most.  Who is that for you?  It’s easy to say God, but do you REALLY love Him to the point of wanting to chase Him wherever He may go?  Are you willing to lay down your life as He did for you?  That is true unconditional love.
