IAMFORGIVEN

Dun Dah Da Duhhh… I was riding along in my superhero car that I call the blue bucket! This thing is a total beast! The front of the car is held together by duct tape and has scratches all over the place. But don’t let this Trav Mobil fool you, the gas mileage is amazing and does an awesome job of getting me to my next destination when I need to save the world.

The other day I had just finished bringing my cell phone back to life and decided that was enough saving for one day. I jumped into the blue bucket and used my hyper gear to get quickly back to my house. Living on a mountain sometimes I have to stick out my foot just to help push and give it enough power to make it up the hill. Flintstones style!

As I got to the top of the hill on the road ahead of me was an itsy bitsy black cat that I could barely see from a distance. As I got closer, it seemed to be lying there not moving so I just swerved around it only to notice that it wasn’t a cat. So I stopped, did a quick turn to see what this things was. I pulled up along side of it and realized it was an iPhone 5s with a cat case. Somebody had dropped their phone in the middle of the road. I carefully picked it up in total fear that this thing might have rabies or might scratch me. You never know with those cat lovers, what kind of apps they may have installed!!

I brought the phone home and waited for somebody to call. Nothing! The next day, nothing! Either they didn’t know the phone was lost or they didn’t want the phone. I was a little out of my superhero league, so I went to my sidekick Google to see what he would advise. Maybe I could break the passcode and get into the contacts to call somebody to see if they knew whose phone it was. But no success, I just ended up calling 911 on accident twice. I didn’t need their help; I was going to be the hero on this one!

Finally, I just started pushing buttons and all of a sudden a voice started talking to me. It was like a genie who was wanting to grant me three wishes. So I said call Mom, nothing. Call Dad, nothing. Then the little kitty wanted to talk to me face to face with his unique facetime powers. But I was sitting in bed, and that wouldn’t have been a good sight for whoever it was calling, so I hung up and just gave up for a little while.

About 20 minutes later, I tried again, and somehow the phone directed me to one of their friends. Ok, I will give this a shot.. “Hello I am Travis, and I found this phone on the street, can you tell me whose it is?” The guy on the other end said, “Yah Bruh, her name is **** .”   So I asked him if he would give her my number and have her call me to get the phone. He said, “yah bruh, I will have her call yous”.

About 15 minutes later I got a phone call from a private number and said this is it! So under my breath I practiced my deep superhero voice “HELLO, THIS IS TRAVIS”. And then answered the phone. We got to talking, and she didn’t even realize that she had lost her phone. She thought she left it at her parents house and was going to get it later.

When I met up with her, she was very nonchalant and didn’t even care much because she didn’t have that feeling of actually losing something. She was clueless to the whole situation. While I was out there being a superhero, she was living her life without a worry in mind. If she was aware that her phone was in need of finding, I am sure she would have taken the steps to do whatever she could to try and save her phone from the destruction that could have been. After, she thanked me but in a way that showed she didn’t even care. So I gave her a gospel tract and invited her to church and blessed her in the name of Jesus.

This made me think! How many people out there don’t worry or even care because they are so clueless about what happens after death. I wonder if they would live life differently if they realized that they need saving from their sinfulness. We are all in danger of living an eternity in Hell because of our sins and our rejection of God and need a Savior to protect us from all that. So many people don’t know the need of Jesus because they don’t think they need saving. Jesus died on a cross for our sins and has saved us from the punishment that we deserve. Without Jesus we are doomed, so don’t be clueless about your eternal destination and punishment for your sins.

We all have to turn away from our sins and turn to a life with Jesus. When you understand what Christ did for you, you will be beyond thankful, and your gratitude will shine through your attitude. You will find a joy that will never be taken away and your life will be transformed for eternity.

I want to encourage you to look at your life now and see your need for Jesus. We will all stand before God on judgment day and if we are guilty of breaking just one of God’s laws (The Ten Commandments), we will send ourselves to hell because of our rebellion against God. The only way out of that is through entirely putting your trust in Jesus. God bless you, and I hope you experience the abundant life in Christ.
