IAMFORGIVEN

intentiallybeingmissional

We live in an area populated by millions of people, in fact I just looked up online how many people live in Los Angeles County and there are close to 10 million people just in this area of Southern California.  Everywhere we go there are humans!   I wake up in the morning walk outside and there are my neighbors playing in my driveway.  I go to work, get on the road and there are thousands of people doing the same thing.  I stop in to get a daily coffee and THERE ARE HUMANS EVERYWHERE!!!

We can’t go anywhere without running into somebody.  Over the weekend I went out with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday and we ended up going to a local bar to get our dance on.  As I was sitting there looking around at all these people, I started to have this heavy burden of a place that was dark and lost.  People that were looking for fulfillment in things of this world but not finding it.  People that were looking for hope and just waiting for somebody to give them the good news. There were 3 girls that were standing right in front of us that looked like they wanted us to come talk to them.  So contemplating what to do next I sat there and debated my next move.   Should I approach them and see what comes of it or should I just stand there and let time pass?  So what did I do?  Nothing… I just sat around and did some more people watching  and then we eventually left!

In this situation I failed in a way that I should have stepped up and shared the greatest news every known to man to a bunch of girls that really needed to hear it because they seemed to be searching for love in all the wrong places.  We all fail at this because people are sometimes difficult and we would rather take the easy route, but what if in every situation we were Intentionally Missional?  What if everywhere we went we began to love people so much that we started to look for ways to bless people and share Christ?

Everything that we do has a purpose and daily God gives us people to tell the good news of Jesus Christ to.  We need to start seizing every opportunity to share that love by looking outside our agenda and looking at the bigger picture.  When we change our perspective on life and live the way Christ lived, then it becomes easier so care for those created in the image of God and share with them the news that will change their lives forever.

So how can we apply being INTENTIONALLY MISSIONAL to our daily?
1. See everybody you encounter as somebody created in the image of God
2.  Be ready to share your faith and tell the good news
3. Deny your self and get outside your comfort zone

This is not easy and I know I fail at this all the time but I want to encourage you to really change your perspective on life and see that you could be used to further God’s Kingdom if you are willing to seize the opportunities.
