IAMFORGIVEN

A story can be found in the shoes of brokenness.  Once brand new, vibrantly white, full of excitement and life, now barely hanging on by a a little glue that binds the sole to the shoe.  Her strings withered by being pulled back and forth everyday and then tugged and tightened for the comfort of her master.   At times the laces felt so stretched and torn that she wanted to give up and let them snap, but there was something interlacing them together, something so deep that she couldn’t give up.  She had to continue her journey and fulfill her purpose.    Each day she would step onto many different surfaces slowly testing her sole to see what she could with stand.  There would be days where she would take heavy beatings stripping the very life out her leaving her unrested and constantly on the go.   But then other days she would find rest in the darkness of the closet where she didn’t have to worry about the world taking more out of her.  Eventually, she could not hold back from what the world threw at her leaving her master exposed with holes that had been eaten her for years.  Her stench permeated the room everywhere she went because no matter how many times her master would try to cleanse her of bacteria, she would still suffocate from her master pushing her from the inside out leaving no space to breath.   She would become uncomfortable and unwearable to a point of leaving her master no choice but to retire the shoes into a place of full rest.  Brokenness has lived a hard life with the sole purpose of pleasing her master.

Before being thrown into the garbage for retirement a new pair of shoes were placed next to brokenness.  She looked over at the new shoes that would take her place; vibrantly white and full of life, just how brokenness was created.  The new pair of shoes had this curious smile about her and asked her “How did you get to be so ugly?”.

She just smiled and told her story about how she got to where she was today.  “I have seen life in a different perspective; trampled on day in and day out to a point of wanting to give up, but stayed on the path.  Even though my life has been hard I know one thing,  It is in my brokenness that I have become holy.”

* Do not give up, the trials that we face builds Godly character which make us more like Christ.
