angel

It’s really amazing to see God show up in ways that I would have never expected.  Everything from random people coming up to me to put large bills of money in my hand, to God opening the doors for places for me to stay, to even cars for me to drive.  It seems like one thing after another, and at times I would never imagine.

This story really blew my mind and I question if God sent me an angel.

I just had an amazing time in Sydney where I got to hang out with the amazing Sanchita, Rachel, and Mommy Lola.  I was blessed with a nice flat (room), food and a great family.  But my time there was up and New Zealand was calling.  So I jumped on a bus to Central Station where I would purchase a train ticket back to the airport.

As I got off the bus, I had my huge backpackers backpack on the back which was almost as big as I was.  On the front was my camera bag with all my gear, and then hanging off the side was my laptop bag.  I definitely had the markings of a tourist as I walked through the well dressed crowd coming and going to and from work.  I followed the signs that led me to a long tunnel down to the train station.  As I was minding my own business to make it to the airport on time so I wouldn’t get left behind, I felt this guy start to creep up on me.  At the corner of my eye I was trying to figure out what he was doing.

He asked “Hey are you German?” In an American accent, which kind of through me off, sense everybody else was speaking Strailyen.  So I looked over at him and said “Naw I am from the States, where are you from?”  He said I am from Lanta (Atlanta).  I was like “Sweet, I am from the other side; Cali.”

As we continued to walk down the same path, he asked me what I was up to in Australia and I explained to him that I was just passing through to get back to New Zealand where I would be doing missionary work.  He was like “Right On, I go to Hillsong.”

Right after that we got to the ticket booth with two long lines of people waiting to get their tickets.  This guy walked right through a little area to an open booth to grab a ticket.  As I looked at the crowed of people it was like nobody even saw him or cared that he just cut in front of everybody and grabbed his ticket.  I on the other hand didn’t want to be rude so just jumped in line with the other people waiting my turn.

The guy walks back up to me, gives me a ticket to the airport, says enjoy your mission and walks off.  I was in awe of what just happened and when looked back I couldn’t even find the guy.  He had just disappeared and I just sat there thinking, did this really just happen?  A totally random stranger bought my $17 train ticket and disappeared!  Wow, God is good!

I am finding that the more we trust God and allow Him to work in our lives, the more miracles we see.  This is just one story of many that I have seen God show up in HUGE ways!  We have to walk by faith and expect God to do things we could never imagine so that He is glorified.  When we do things on our own, we are saying we don’t need God, but when we realize that we are but a vapor and fully have to rely on God we allow Him to do miracles in our lives.

Trust God!
